1 / 2As a self-declared castle historian (Level 14), I’ve visited 63 European strongholds, four Renaissance fairs, and one regrettable LARP divorce. But nothing—NOTHING!!!—prepared me for the unfiltered majesty of Highline179.
The second I saw that suspension bridge stretching between two actual medieval fortresses, I dropped my turkey leg, unsheathed my replica sword (foam, for legal reasons), and whispered, “It is time.”
I brought my own medieval trail mix—just figs, walnuts, and chunks of salted boar jerky—and began the ascent.
The views? Insane. Castles to the left, castles to the right, mountains everywhere. I tried to explain the structural engineering to a passing child but his mom pulled him away. Their loss.
If you like castles, heights, mild panic, and involuntarily shouting “LONG LIVE THE ROMANESQUE PERIOD!” into the sky, this is your Super Bowl.
