1 / 1Marienbrücke is hands-down the best view of Neuschwanstein Castle. I’m talking full-on fairy tale, cover-of-a-puzzle-box level gorgeous. Pro tip: take the bus up, soak in that epic scenery, then walk down to the castle—trust me, it’s the ideal way to experience it all without burning your calves into schnitzel.
Now, while I was there, something strange happened. Several people on the trail—completely unrelated, and very serious-looking—were whispering about some kind of large, hairy creature spotted near the treeline. Tall. Shaggy. Smelled like bratwurst and regret. Could it have been a Bavarian Bigfoot? A yodeling yeti? One woman claimed it was just her ex-husband hiking shirtless. Hard to say.
All I know is: I heard a rustle, saw a shadow, and something big moved way too gracefully for a tourist with a selfie stick.
Anyway, go for the views… stay for the folklore. Marienbrücke: majestic castle in front of you, mythical beast behind you. Bucket list achieved.
