Every aisle is a social event. I walked past the deli and accidentally joined a book club. (Spoiler: Marge hated the ending.) The produce section doubles as a walking group circuit, and I swear there’s a weekly bridge tournament happening near the bakery. Gerald and Ethel were going head-to-head while blocking the rye bread.
Frozen food aisle? Oh, that’s not for peas and pizza rolls anymore—that’s the shuffleboard court now. I almost got hit by a flying Lean Cuisine when Doris went for a triple-bank shot off the frozen broccoli. Impressive, honestly.
Everyone’s polite, the carts move at a steady 1 mph, and I left with my groceries and three invitations to bingo night.
If you’re under 60, you’ll feel like a visiting grandkid. If you’re over 60, welcome home.
P.S. – Best place to buy prune juice and feel young again.
