The room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and there were enough pillow options to turn bedtime into a choose your own adventure. Just follow your heart and you can’t go wrong.
We booked through Amex Travel via Platinum, and the hospitality was so good it made us feel slightly unworthy. Which, to be fair, we probably are. But the service went well beyond the card benefits. From Eden Rooftop Bar to Blue Hound Kitchen, everyone was fantastic. Special thanks to Candice (at Eden) and Martin (at Blue Hound).
Valet is $44 a night versus $30 for self parking next door. We chose valet. Fourteen dollars seemed reasonable to avoid wandering through the desert in search of our vehicle. Moses has done enough of that for all of us.
There’s also complimentary coffee in the morning. An Alaska Airlines flight attendant staying there could not stop talking about how much better it was than coffee at other hotels. When someone who practically lives in hotels endorses the lobby coffee, I listen.
I’ve been loyal to Marriott for years, but their dynamic pricing and increasingly diluted value of loyalty points finally pushed me to branch out. Strangely, I’m grateful. Otherwise, I probably never would have discovered this place.
