1 / 1We hit Theresienwiese for the first day of Spring Festival—parade was great, outfits were fantastic, spirits were high… until we tried getting into a beer tent. Three hours in line only to be told no entry. Unless you’ve got a reservation, don’t even bother. Save yourself the heartbreak—there are plenty of awesome beer spots outside the tents with way less hassle.
Watching everyone parade around in lederhosen and dirndls is a treat on its own, but the real show came at the end. As we were leaving, I had to leap over a puddle of fresh, glistening vomit. Not just any vomit—this was no ordinary brew-fueled blowout. It featured long, fully intact strands of what appeared to be unchewed pasta.
And now I can’t stop thinking about it. Was it an Italian tourist unprepared for German beer? A German unfamiliar with how to eat spaghetti? A symbolic fusion of culinary confusion and festival overindulgence? I may never know. But I’ll never forget.
Worth going for the people-watching. Just pack patience…and maybe rain boots.
